Regeneration with major scope
Our proposal for a major regeneration of the Birkenhead waterfront was a competition entry for which we were shortlisted.
We proposed an exciting, contemporary high-quality, mixed-use development to enrich this strategically important Wirral waterfront.
The solution proposed a broad vision:
• A multi-storey hotel, a residential tower, an open courtyard/plaza defined by a 3 storey plinth to house a variety of leisure, conferencing and service facilities.
• The central courtyard/plaza was completed on the remaining sides by low-rise commercial office space, to control movement patterns and create a sense of place.
• Maximising the site topography, we included, to the rear, a residential housing scheme that afforded views across to the Liverpool waterfront.
